My Favorite Things | March 2021

I’m just going to jump right in and say that I found *THE BEST* drugstore makeup in March that I have found in a while! I used to look forward to going to Sephora to find the most unique makeup gems, but the drugstore has REALLY stepped it up lately. Plus, I found my new favorite pair of shoes too. Let’s talk about it ALL!

Makeup

If you’re looking for a face base that looks like your skin but better, while also looking like an Instagram filter for your face, you NEED the Wet ‘n’ Wild Tinted Hydrator in your life! I have the shade Medium Tan.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to foundation/coverup; my skin breaks out if the formula contains oil. This stuff is great because it is truly the best of both worlds; it has the weightlessness of a tinted moisturizer, yet you can build it up to your desired coverage like a foundation. I simply use my fingers to apply; no brush or sponge needed. Your skin will feel so plump and radiant! I set with a tiny bit of translucent powder just to make sure it stays in place all day. I even have my mom using this stuff now! It’s so so good.

Sometimes blushes that look a little “blah” and plain in the pan give you the most natural, pretty flush! I found this to be the case with the elf Bite Size Face Duo in Lychee. This mid-toned pink blush has a peachy undertone. It’s the perfect blush for everyday. The formula is so creamy and easy to build; it has a seamless, airbrushed finish. The bronze highlighter complements the blush perfectly. Can you believe this duo is only $3?! I’m collecting them all!

Flower Beauty is probably my all-time favorite drugstore beauty brand. I only wish it was available in more stores and not just CVS. I’m happy to shop online, though; I’ve hardly ever been disappointed with anything I’ve bought from them. The Scribble Stick in Caramel is a new favorite of mine! Perfect for natural makeup days! This mid-toned brown crayon creates an easy, wearable smoky eye. It blends nicely; a cream-to-powder formula.

To Wear

I have been a fan of Vans for years. You just can’t beat the quality of their slip-on shoes. I usually opt for a solid pair, but I love the look of these Checkered Slip-Ons in Rose Dawn/White. The color instantly makes me feel happy. I know I will wear them constantly throughout spring and summer. I love that the muted rose shade isn’t too loud or bright, so it can pair with any outfit. I’m already eyeing another color!

My favorite things | May 2017

Since I was a tad late publishing my April 2017 favorite things, I thought I should be early with this post! As always, here are the items that struck my fancy in May. We have a lot of ground to cover, so let’s get started!

SKINCARE / BEAUTY

For the past couple months, I received a couple samples of the Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap. I so loved this product that I decided to invest in a full-sized tube. So what’s so special about this cleanser?

It is simple yet luxurious. The texture is unique; like an air-whipped mousse. You just need a pea-sized amount for this cleanser to transform into a hefty lather. It feels like shaving cream! Best of all, it rinses off clean and doesn’t leave a funky residue.

For all of you out there who are sensitive to fragrance, don’t worry–this facial cleanser has no smell. I use this facial soap alone in the mornings, then with my Clarisonic at night. A single tube is bound to last months and months. You get a lot of bang for your buck!

YouTube Vlogger KathleenLights raved about the Milani Make It Last Setting Spray a few months back. She can convince me to buy most anything, so of course I promptly headed to CVS to purchase my own bottle.

I am thoroughly impressed by this setting spray! The mist is SO incredibly fine. It feels very high-end! I am still a big fan of my NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray, but even that spray is not quite as fine as this one.

A lot of mist is deposited with one push, but it blankets your face so nicely. I just need like three sprays to cover my face! This setting spray does have a little bit of a fragrance, but it disappears once your face dries. Most importantly, it does prolong your makeup! If your face looks a little too powdery, Make It Last will smooth everything out.

I’m terribly late to the Roller Lash party, but I am so glad I FINALLY tried this Benefit Mascara.

I was faithful to the They’re Real! Mascara for a year straight. These two mascaras definitely are similar formula-wise. The texture is jet black, creamy and shiny. Roller Lash is very good at curling and lengthening my lashes. I really love that the comb-shaped brush enables my lashes hold curl all day! The rubber bristles coat my lashes evenly and eliminate clumping. While it does give me SOME volume, Roller Lash isn’t quite as intense as They’re Real!

FullSizeRender (3)

I will continue to purchase Roller Lash; it is such a good everyday mascara and worth the price too. 🙂

WHAT I’M STREAMING

FullSizeRender (4)

I’ve been slowly getting into podcasts lately; BobbyCast is one that I have really enjoyed. If you’re a country music fanatic like me, look no further! It’s hosted by Bobby Bones, a popular radio host.

Bobby invites country singers and songwriters over to his house for a chat. Each episode is low-key but interesting at the same time. I love to hear how each singer/songwriter’s backstory and how they craft their songs. My favorite episode so far is when Bobby interviews Maren Morris. I just LOVE her so much!

You can download BobbyCast for free in the Apple App Store. 🙂

About three weeks ago, I completed the entire Parenthood series on Netflix. My heart broke to leave that fictional family. I frequently had to remind myself that it was just a TV show; the final episode was incredibly moving!

Anyway, I have decided to watch Friday Night Lights. This show is about a small town in Texas. Dillon revolves around high school football, so FNL explores all of this town’s ups and downs.

It took me a solid four or five episodes to get hooked, but I am enjoying it so far! It reminds me a lot of the small town that I am from. I’m excited to see how the story progresses.

An easy, PEACHY-PINK nude lip for spring + summer

Today I thought I would do a short and sweet post on one of my favorite lip combos I’ve been wearing A LOT lately….

FullSizeRender

I used to think the whole nude lip look wasn’t for me! It would just wash me out. Turns out, I wasn’t choosing lip colors with the right undertones. Here is my favorite way to wear a nude lip..and it is totally fool-proof!

FullSizeRender (1)

Before applying any products, you want to make sure that your lips are nice and clean so everything will go on evenly and easily. Recently, one of my favorite lipsticks has been the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in Clay Crush. I would describe Clay Crush as this apricot-nude shade. It has just a hint of brown in there, but it is still wearable for spring and summer!

The Creamy Matte Lipsticks are insanely good! The creamy texture goes on so smoothly and isn’t the least bit drying. I have a couple other colors in this range, and will continue to buy more.

FullSizeRender (2)

To finish off this peachy nude lip, I apply a thin layer of the Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian on top of Clay Crush. I just love this lip gloss so much! It adds just a touch of pink to the peachiness of the lipstick; the perfect little combo.

The formula of White Russian is to die for! It packs on a patent leather-like shine to any lipstick. It’s not sticky, tacky or gloppy. One of my favorite things about White Russian is it doesn’t overpower any lipstick that you wear underneath; rather, it just complements it. (Hope that makes sense!) It’s almost like adding a high-definition effect to your lips. Plus, it feels really cooling and refreshing.

Just a tip: Make sure you don’t apply TOO MUCH of White Russian on top of a lipstick. It will make everything smudge! A little dab will do ya. 🙂

Hope you all enjoyed reading this post! I love this look because it’s light and summery..not too harsh. And, it’s really easy to pull off. These two items have become a staple in my collection. Hope you will love them too.

Spring Colors with Bonobos

It’s nearly April, which means the frigid winter temperatures are on the way out. FINALLY! You know what that means…say goodbye to cozy layers and hello to breezy spring attire! Today I thought I would share with you a “his”and “her” look for the upcoming spring months, focusing on stylish yet classic pieces from the men’s clothing line, Bonobos. Let’s take a look!

Spring Colors for Him

Spring Style for Him
The Striped Sport Shirt from Bonobos instantly caught my eye. Stripes are my favorite; this classic pattern never goes out of style and looks good on anyone. The “sport” element of the shirt is perfect for spring; not too dressy and not too casual!

I thought these Foundation Linen Trousers from Bonobos would go well with the sport shirt. Linen is a nice departure from traditional khaki pants; they are not quite as heavy and just more comfortable!

You can never go wrong with classic suede loafers. I love these from To Boot New York. They are comfortable and light–just right for the warmer months. The grey color goes so well with the linen pants and sport shirt.

To top this spring look off, I added a classic timepiece from Nibello Watches with a brown leather strap. This watch looks well paired with a suit or more casual clothing.

Spring Colors for Her

Spring Style for Her
Free People is my go-to brand when looking for light, breezy fashions! This Floral Racerback Dress is the epitome of spring. The floral print is classic and feminine, while the racerback gives this dress a sporty look. Perfect to wear on Easter or even a night out.

I decided to add a this Blanknyc Pastel Moto Jacket, since we get occasional cool days during spring! The blush color is very polished, while not being too girly. I just love how the edginess of this jacket contrasts nicely with the feminine floral dress. Although these two pieces have different vibes, they work well together!

These Tory Burch Patos Sandals are another classic staple. The metallic gold color gives this look just the right amount of bling! These sandals are both playful and dressy; you could wear them with numerous outfits.

Chloe Eau De Parfum is my all-time favorite fragrance. I wear it year-round, but I especially love it in the warmer months. It’s everything a woman could want in a perfume; the perfect balance of clean, floral and crisp notes. It’s just so comforting; the cherry on top to this springy and feminine look.

Hope you all enjoyed reading this post! Browsing through all of the breezy fashions got me excited to break out my own pieces for spring. What are some of your spring fashion staples?

Four fun lip colors to wear this spring + summer

Adding a pop of color to your makeup routine is the perfect way to welcome the spring and summer months! I love my reds and purples for fall, but wearing pinks and corals really get me in the spirit for warm weather.

IMG_3101

Today, I’ve decided to share with y’all four lip colors I am looking forward to wearing this spring and summer. They may be bright, but as long as you balance these colors out with a toned-down face, you’ll look fab. Let’s take a look!

IMG_3102

I know I mentioned this one in my previous blog post, but I’m so obsessed with it that I thought it was worth another mention! This is Sephora Collection Rouge Gel Lip Liner in Wine-O. The color is the prettiest raspberry-reddish color. I know this is technically a lip liner, but I have been filling in my entire lips with it! The texture is like a dense, smooth balm. It does drag a tad bit when you’re applying just because it’s so thick, but it’s not the least bit drying. In fact, You don’t even have to apply lip balm afterwards. Staying power is also satisfactory. I can’t wait to try more shades!

IMG_3103

A friend brought me back this raspberry-fuchsia colored liquid lipstick from Japan! It’s called Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in RS 404. I know this color looks alarmingly bold on the applicator, but trust me, it’s not as scary as it looks. In fact, when you start spreading it on your lips, I’ve noticed that it kind of sinks in and creates a stain instead of laying on top and being completely shiny. The texture is smooth, but has the slightest bit of tackiness just to be able to stick to your lips. I am a fan of this, because you don’t have to worry about it smudging. Just the right amount of product comes out on the applicator too, so you don’t make a mess when you apply. Nifty!

IMG_3104
Up next, we have NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp. I actually bought this stuff last summer, and I am looking forward to wearing it again. I would describe Antwerp as being this coral-pink color, which is ideal for spring and summer! As the name suggests, it also has a matte finish. Since it is matte, I would suggest applying a bit of balm afterwards just so you don’t dry out. If I had a suggestion on how these lip creams could be better, I’d suggest that staying power was just a tad longer. But on the bright side–the product does smell like cake batter, so that kind of makes up for it! 😉

IMG_3105

Lastly, we have Essence Liquid Lipstick in Show Off! This is probably the boldest lip color that I own. I would describe the shade as being this scarlet-y reddish color. The texture feels like a thick but smooth gloss, which is very comfortable. The doe-foot applicator is really flexible so you have lots of control when applying. Show Off is a very bold and electric shade, so I suggest keeping the rest of your makeup nice and simple when wearing it!

From top: Wine-O, RS 404, Antwerp and Show Off!

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post, because I loved writing it! What is your favorite lip color to wear in the spring and summer?

Have a fabulous day!

My favorite things: April 2016 edition

I have just realized that this will be my last “Favorite Things” post as a college student. AHH! In just about two and a half weeks, I will have my diploma and this chapter in my life will come to a close. Talk about bittersweet! I’ve been experiencing so many different emotions lately that I feel a bit scatterbrained–but hey, that’s okay!

Anywho, let’s get on with talking about my favorite things for the month of April. Once again, I have tried to incorporate a nice mix of beauty, fashion, and a couple other neat things. Let’s get started!

Beauty

FullSizeRender (2)

About a month and a half ago, I went to a Jessie James Decker concert with a friend. Jessie just so happens to be a spokesperson for this fave4 hair care line, so a little booth was set up at the concert displaying various products. For about a year or so, I’ve been looking for a cream or gel that would help me enhance my natural waves. One cream I tried was wayyy too sticky, and another high end air-dry cream was just too expensive for me. Luckily, this stuff does the trick for me!

After I shower and wash my hair, I comb it, and apply this fave4 Up For Air Air Dry Cream. You don’t have to worry about over-applying because this gel-cream is non-greasy and weightless. This may sound a little obvious but the more you apply, the wavier your hair will be in the morning! I don’t be shy because I love for my hair to be really wavy, almost curly! And, it makes your hair nice and shiny.

Another thing I like about this gel-cream is that it smells really nice! The scent is unique; it smells really fresh, but doesn’t smell like a typical “fresh” scent. It almost has like a little bit of sophistication to it. Plus, this bottle only cost around $15, so you get a lot of product for not a ton of money. On a side note, I really want to try Jessie’s hair perfume….has anyone tried it yet???

IMG_3050

I am super excited to start breaking out my bold and bright lip colors for the upcoming warm months. In fact, I’m already planning on doing a post dedicated to my favorite bold, springy lip products, so stay tuned!

The other day I was at Sephora and decided to purchase this unique lip pencil, Sephora Collection Rouge Gel Lip Liner in Wine-O. Although it was a bit of an impulse, I am sooo happy I got it, because I’m already in love! I know it is technically a liner, but I have been filling in my lips with it and treating it like a normal lip color.

While standard lip liners tend to be really draggy and drying, this one is different. It reminds me of a dense, gel-like balm. Having said that, it is not super creamy so it does take some conciseness and effort when you apply. It takes me a couple extra minutes to get the pigment nice and even, but it is GORGEOUS at the end. Wine-O is a raspberry-reddish shade. So pretty! And, you don’t even have to worry about applying balm over it because it is non-drying. The staying power is impressive, too! I would definitely recommend trying these liners.

Lately, I’ve been enjoying taking a break from big statement earrings and wearing more delicate pieces instead. These two pairs of earrings are just a couple of my favorites!

A good friend of mine recently traveled to Japan and brought me back some really neat goodies, including these pearl and bow earrings. They are so cute and unique; I’ve never seen anything like them. Obviously the pearl goes in my piercing, but then there’s this pink bow that hangs down! I’ve really loved wearing these.

The next pair of earrings is from one of my favorite designers, Betsey Johnson. I’ve also been reaching for these rustic gold angel wings a lot too, lately. I especially love the tiny rhinestone accents.

A good read

IMG_3049

When I was in sixth grade, I was obsessed with the movie Walk The Line, and that is not an exaggeration. I have probably seen that movie a total of 75 times. I used to know every line and had every song memorized! I can’t believe it’s taken me ten years to want to sit down and read Johnny Cash’s autobiography, Cash.

I’m not finished with it yet, but I can already tell you that it is worth a read. I love how Cash writes this memoir in such a conversational manner, like you are really visiting with him and talking about his life. I love to read other people’s stories, and see how they have overcome their struggles and have become the person they are today.

I know that Cash has passed way now, but I think it’s fascinating to read about his life. From how he dealt with his older bother’s death when he was young, to overcoming drug addiction multiple times….this man sure did live one heck of a life. It’s hard to put down!

Playlist

Here are some songs I’ve listened to for the past month. There’s some country, pop, Christian music, alternative…I also included a song from my friend’s band, RAINEY. Y’all need to check them out. They are going places!

Have a fabulous day!

Face of the day: senior pictures

A couple weeks ago, I had a friend of mine take some portraits of me that I could use for my graduation announcement. I wanted the pictures to be elegant and simple, yet still show off my personality. I chose to wear a white chiffon top with a glittery, gold sequined collar!

_MG_5486

I was very happy with how the pictures turned out! I wanted to keep my makeup pretty natural with a pop of shimmer. Today, I thought I would share with you the products I used to achieve this fresh and fun makeup look. Let’s get started, shall we?

{Base}

IMG_3017

After washing my face, I put on a thin layer of Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Complexion Primer Potion. The formula is like a creamy balm with a matte finish. It does a great job of smoothing over your skin!
Next, I put a layer of Maybelline Better Skin Concealer + Corrector in Light under my eyes and any other areas that need extra attention. (I know, I reversed the foundation and concealer in the picture.) I really love this concealer because it almost has a serum-like texture that blends easily into my face, and it adds some brightness too!
After concealer, I applied Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation in Creamy Beige. This foundation has light to medium and buildable coverage. Although it has a matte finish, it doesn’t make me look too dry or flat. It’s also good at controlling oil.
I blended the foundation in with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. Lastly, I applied a thin dusting of Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Medium/Deep. As I have mentioned many times before, this is my all-time, forever-favorite bronzer!

{Eyes}

IMG_3018

I really wanted my eye makeup to complement my glittery gold collar without being too showy or overboard! For a shimmery yet subtile look, I turned to my holy-grail Lorac Mega PRO 2 Palette. I’m just so crazy about these shadows!! It’s amazing how they are all so high-quality and creamy and wonderful. Before I applied, I of course primed my lids with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden.
Anyway, for this look, I simply used the Gold Leaf shade there on the last row. As the name suggests, it is just a simple gold shade! After that, I lined my eyes with Sephora Collection Diamond Eyeliner in Cushion Cut. It is a simple black crayon liner with some silver shimmer! Lastly, I applied a couple coats of Benefit They’re Real! Mascara. The amazing formula is jet-black, shiny and delivers ample volume and length to lashes without them looking spidery. I would say it’s my favorite mascara!

{Cheeks}

IMG_3020

I wanted to pair my gold, shimmery eyes with a glowy pink cheek! To achieve this look, I used Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blush in Pink Rose. As you can see, this blush is made up of four different colors, so it gives my cheeks some dimension! It also stays on very well for a drugstore blush.
Next, I applied a VERY small amount of highlighter (because you can never go wrong with that)! I used Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow on the tops of my cheek bones and down the bridge of my nose. Not only does it give my complexion a healthy rosy glow, but it also softens any harsh blush lines!

{Lips}

IMG_3021

I decided to finish this look off with just a simple baby-pink lip! I went with Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Color in Angelic. I purchased this in Germany this past summer, and I really wish these liquid lipsticks were available in the States. They last a SUPER long time! The formula is nice and creamy, and also glides on smoothly. I love it! I use my Eos Lip Balm in Vanilla to help seal the color in and provide moisture. Plus, this balm tastes very good!

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post! I really feel like this makeup look could be worn every day; it has subtle shimmer and pops of color without being too tacky!

Have a fabulous day!

Fun-sized beauty

Hey friends!

We’ve all heard the saying “good things come in small packages.” That rings true with this blog post. Here are some beauty items I have purchased lately that may be “fun-sized” but deliver satisfying results. Let’s take a look!

photo 2 (2)

First off, we have elf All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade. To be honest, I was a little skeptical about this product because it was only around $3. Nonetheless, I was not let down! This cute little stick delivers the prettiest pearly pink shade. I mostly use it as a cream blush. Just apply a small amount to the apples of your cheeks and gently blend outward. The smooth formula sinks right into skin and lasts all day. It is perfect for providing a natural and fresh glow to your complexion. I approve! 🙂

Next, we have Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow in Bella Khaki. This is the first eyeshadow I have bought from this brand, (the blushes are FAB also) and I am looking forward to buying another. I really wish Milani was advertised more; they have great, high-quality stuff. Anyway, this shadow is a slightly shimmery, olive green-khaki shade. It makes my brown eyes pop! Because the formula is like a baked gel, it glides on smoothly and has good staying power. To intensify the pigmentation, I recommend applying primer first and layering it on top of a neutral shadow, like beige. Yesterday for Easter I layered it on top of my Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow and it had a beautiful contrast.

I have been really into trying different lip stains lately. I love them because they deliver a subtile wash of long-lasting color without being too bold. I decided to give Milani Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain in Raspberry Tart a go. The name says it all. This stain is lasting and moisturizing. The raspberry pink shade is perfect for the upcoming and spring and summer months. Although it has a shiny and glossy finish, it’s not the least bit sticky or gloppy. The felt tip is also perfect for precise application. This product is such a great buy for those who are wanting to try out a stain. It is beautiful, compact and most importantly, affordable!

photo 3

From top: Pink Lemonade, Bella Khaki and Raspberry Tart

I hope you enjoy these cosmetics as much as I do! They may come in small packages, but that does not effect the quality at all. Best of all, they are also light on your wallet! Enjoy! And I hope you all had a great Easter weekend!

Spring break beauty finds 2015!

Hey friends!

As I mentioned in my last post, I did some major beauty shopping over spring break. Today, I thought I’d share with you more of my favorite finds! These products will not only help you look your best in the spring, but are sweat-proof for the summer as well. Let’s get started!

photo (3)

First off, we have L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Gel Mascara. A few weeks ago, I accidentally left my Benefit Gimme Brow Gel open, and it dried out! 😦 So ever since then, I’ve been on the hunt for a brow gel that is similar, yet cheaper. This product is great! It keeps my brows from getting unruly (I was blessed with Brooke Shields-esque ones so they can get out of hand at times). The gel is tinted so it makes your brows have more body. A couple more things to note: it has a slightly stiff finish, so be careful to not over apply: I did the first time and my brows were jet black and felt sticky. Also, the wand is slightly bigger and wider, so make sure you use a light hand..sometimes when I’m in a hurry, brush them too fast and gel gets outside my brows so I have to take time to clean them up. Nonetheless, I still love this product! It’s a great brow gel if you’re looking for a cheaper option.

Josie Maran’s Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadows are my absolute favorite shadows to use! I bought my first one last December and use it almost daily. Over the break, I added another one to my collection called Beach Sand which is a pretty bronze shade. The thing that I love most about this product is the overall feel of it. The formula is infused with coconut water so it is very light, yet it stays on all day. There is almost a cooling sensation when you apply it. And best of all, it looks very natural so it’s perfect for everyday wear!

I received this Laura Geller Baked Brulee Highlighter in Honey Lavender as a gift, and I am a big fan! I love highlighter because I think it adds a “high definition” factor to your makeup. It gives your complexion the prettiest glow, and it smooths out any harsh lines you may have made with your blush or foundation. This highlighter is unique because it is multicolored. Like the name suggests, the colors in this highlighter are soft goldish honey and lavender…so pretty! I bet you’re saying, “Lyndi! How will lavender look natural on my face? It’s purple!” Don’t worry you guys. It has a pinky-orchid tone to it, so it WILL look natural! Give it a try. 🙂

What would one of my beauty posts be without the mention of a lipstick? For those of you who don’t know, Pantone’s Color of the Year just so happens to be Marsala, which is an earthy, wine-toned brownish red. It sounds very odd, but it is actually a very wearable color. I found Revlon Super Lustrous Lipcolor in Rum Raisin because I wanted to see what Marsala looked like on me! Like I said, it’s a very natural color with a smooth, creamy finish. To ensure that the color stays on for a long time, I suggest that you apply from the tube and blot with a tissue a couple times to make sure it stains your lips. Marsala looks great year-round!

Me and Dad—I’m sporting my Rum Raisin Lipcolor!

So there you have it…more of my spring break beauty finds! Hope you enjoy these products as much as I do.

Have a fabulous day!

My favorite things: March edition

Hello, friends!

I am so sorry for the delay on this “favorite things” post. March has been a crazy month for me school-wise, so I have been unable to gather my things and write this post. Nonetheless, I finally got it all together and am ready to share with you all the beauty buys, fashion finds and music that have struck my fancy this month. Let’s get started!

{Products for pretty hair}

photo (1)

It is no secret that I love all things beauty. But I have to tell you that styling my hair is not my strongest suit. So many girls are so talented at doing their hair..not Lyndi! I just don’t have the patience for it; I wish I did. These are two products that I have recently started using to keep my hair looking good.

Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo has to be my favorite dry shampoo I have ever tried. I feel like this one truly does what it claims–to soak up oil and grime while still making hair soft. I just spray a small amount at my roots, let it sit for a minute or two and then tousle my hair around with my fingers for added texture. The smell is light, clean and pleasant. I can smell small bursts of it throughout the day, which I love.
About a week or so ago, I got four inches cut off of my hair! I loved my long locks, but the knots were getting in the way, so I was ready to say goodbye to them. I’ve mentioned before that I don’t have the thickest hair out there. Lately, I’ve been looking for something to help thicken it up and give it some body. Living Proof Full Thickening Cream has been the golden ticket! Again, this product does what it claims. I apply it to damp hair and then blow-dry. I have been using it for around four weeks now and I really have noticed a difference in my hair. It has become thicker and stronger. I definitely recommend it and will purchase a full-size bottle soon!

{Fun, Dangly Earrings}

photo (2)

My momma taught me early on that no outfit is complete without earrings! Her motto has stuck with me for years…I feel naked if I don’t have any on–hahaha! Usually, I stick with a basic shape: classy pearls or shiny little studs. Lately, I’ve been inspired to branch out a bit and try something different! Here are three pairs of “dangly earrings” I have in my collection that I’ve enjoyed wearing lately:
My mom got me this Betsey Johnson pair for my spring break present! It reminds me of little mosaics. They are little works of art! You’ll noticed that each earring is the inverse of the other. So cute! I love the quirkiness that Betsey Johnson gives to her jewelry.
I received the middle pair of earrings as a Christmas gift! They came from one of my favorite boutiques in my hometown called Merch Northshore. I had been on the hunt for a basic pair of silver hoops. When I saw the tiny beads on them, I knew they were a must-have! They give the simple hoop a little bit of stylish texture.
The last pair is also from Betsey Johnson. I received these nearly two years ago and forgot about them until recently! I love how the gold and hot pink colors look together, and of course the heart charm! They give any outfit a dose of sass!

{The return of Shania}

Before I say anything else, let me just say that Shania Twain is just perfect. She has been one of my favorite singers for as long as I can remember. I kid you not–one of my earliest memories is singing Man! I Feel Like A Woman! in my car seat! She hasn’t put out a new album in 13 years, but I still listen to her regularly. Her songs are so good and relatable!
Now that my little speech is out of the way, I was THRILLED beyond measure when I saw her new Still the One: Live from Vegas album; I bought it without question! I get so giddy when I hear each song!! They bring back memories from my childhood. I haven’t had the chance to watch the concert DVD yet, but I definitely will soon. This album is so great! If you are a Shania fan, you must buy!!!! (Sorry for all of the exclamation marks.)

I hope you have enjoyed this month’s installment of My favorite things! I so enjoyed sharing them with you. 🙂 Stay tuned for more favorites in the future!

Have a fabulous day!
