It is so hard to believe that this time tomorrow I will be done with the first semester of my sophomore year. It has flown by so fast. As of today, I only have one more exam left! I wanted to take a study break to write another blog post. Here we go…
Within the past couple years, you have probably noticed how popular primers have become in makeup routines. This product is so nifty; not only does it cause your makeup to stay on longer, but primer can also be beneficial for your skin. This week, I wanted to talk about a couple of different primers that I use and another cosmetic I enjoy that does not budge — even on your busiest day!
Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer, $30 I began using this primer a year and a half ago, and have not even thought about trying anything else! You may think of primer as just something that sits on top of your skin, but this one has so many benefits: it is a light, slightly creamy gel. When you rub it into your face, it feels so fresh and dewy. Your skin practically “drinks” it! It also does a great job of smoothing out any uneven texture and calming your skin. Best of all, it keeps your makeup from fading. I wear this primer even on the days I don’t wear makeup. You will not regret this purchase…I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!
e.l.f. Essential Eyelid Primer, $1 That’s right, there’s a fantastic eyelid primer on the market for only a buck! Even though I wear a “long-wearing” eyeshadow on a daily basis, sometimes I find that by the end of the day it has faded a little. This product fixes all my problems: all you do is apply a small amount to your eyelids and gently blend with your finger. The product appears to be a light, fleshy color, but dries clear. Let it dry for a few seconds, and then apply your favorite eyeshadow. It will help it go on evenly, and your eyes will look perfect all day!
Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor in All Day Cherry, $9 To be honest, I have never been a fan of any “long-wearing” lip color. I have always found that all it does for me is dry my lips out and make them look terribly flaky — ewww! Well, that’s all changed for me. A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon this glorious product. After seeing how long it lasted on my cousin, I decided to give it a go. I loved it! First, make sure your lips are cleaned off before you apply the gloss — the color will look blotchy and won’t stay on as well if they aren’t! When you apply the gloss, make sure you have a mirror so you apply the color evenly. Let it dry for a good two minutes. You will notice that the gloss has become sticky, but don’t worry, that feeling won’t last long; it is just the color setting. Finally, apply the clear balm; it will give you shine and help seal in the color! The thing I love most about this product is that the color “moves” with your lips feeling light and comfortable — unlike other “long-wearing” products, it doesn’t dry out your lips and have you reaching for hydrating lip balm. This item is worth every penny..it lasts from morning till night!
I think we can all agree that we want our makeup to stay on all day; no one likes the feeling of it sliding off your face. These products will help you look fierce from sun up to sun down!
Have a fabulous day, and happy holidays to all!
