Hello, all! One of the biggest beauty trends this year is playing with bright pops of color. Beauty magazines are filled to the brim with different ways to pull off this bold look. You may think wearing bright colors are just for the runway, but as long as you go about it in a gentle manner, anyone can pull it off! Here’s the details:
MAC Powder Blush in Dollymix, $21 I received this as a gift last Christmas and use it year-round! Don’t let the bright pink color scare you. This shade flatters every skin tone. Apply a small amount to the apples of your cheeks (it is highly pigmented). Too much can make you look too ‘80s, but just the right amount can give you the prettiest pink flush! I also use this blush on my lips from time to time to mattify a pink lip!
MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner in Pure Show, $19.50 Gold is my favorite color to wear on my eyes; it looks natural against my beige skin tone but gives off an extra sparkle! I like to wear this glittery gold liner on top of black liquid liner; it’s a bit more practical and looks less costume-y. The black and gold look so sophisticated together. This look would be great for a holiday party!
Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara in I See Blue, $5.50 When you first look at this mascara, you think, “How in the world is blue mascara supposed to be wearable?” Well, the truth is, it is! Did you know that the blue color makes the whites of your eyes look whiter? This product is a must, especially for the days you don’t get eight hours of sleep. Not only does it make you look rested, but it is also a nice change from regular mascara. However, if you’re still a little iffy about trying it, layer it on top of black mascara; your lashes will still have a faint blue color to them without the boldness!
Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Fever, $24 Just a note: This shade is no longer available, but the shade Spirited looks almost identical. I would just like to say that I love this product! For those of you who are afraid to try a red lipstick, I would recommend giving these a try. Not only is the ruby red color stunning on everyone, but it also goes on so smooth and sheer; it almost feels like a gloss-balm. It also has a minty feel, making your lips plump! Even after the color has worn off your lips, a pretty rosy stain is left behind. This would also look great for a holiday party!
GRAND TOTAL, $70
For best results, I would recommend just making one facial feature stand out to avoid looking too “made up.” But hey, if you want to pair your blue lashes with a pink cheek, go for it! After all, it’s just makeup; it will wash right off if you don’t like it. Have fun experimenting!
Have a fabulous day!
