Three gentle, acne-fighting scrubs

Hello, all! Wow, can’t believe it’s already October! Fall really is upon us, things are changing: the leaves, people’s wardrobes and especially the weather. In the summer, it is best to wear less makeup; the hot sun makes you sweat and  your makeup can melt off your face, not fun at all! But in the fall, things are a little different; the cold temperatures outside and the warm temperatures inside can really stress out your skin and make it dry. Your face can look dull, causing your makeup to “drag,” so what is the solution? Exfoliating, of course! Now, I know that some of you may be a little intimidated by that word, but have no fear; I have found three great exfoliating scrubs that not only remove all the dull, dead skin on your face, but also fight acne and those pesky blackheads without drying. The best part? Not only are they gentle on your face, but are also gentle on your wallet! Here’s the details:

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub, $3.29 I love this scrub!  It is not only creamy but very grainy as well. Unlike the other two scrubs I tested, it does not have bursting beads. The scent is perfect; it smells like fresh apricots! Best of all, it is filled with natural ingredients and has no oil or artificial preservatives. With the price being under $5, it is impossible not to give it a try!

Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub, $8 This creamy, decadent scrub has a pearly, smooth texture and will make your skin look the same way! In the past, I have tried another product by Biore and was pleased with it, so I was excited to try this one. I was not disappointed! Like I said, it is creamy and filled with tiny little beads that burst to exfoliate and fight breakouts. What I love about this scrub is that it has a nice cooling effect on your skin. When you rinse it off, your face feels purified and refreshed, free of stubborn blackheads. You only need to use about a nickel-sized amount; a little goes a long way!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub, $8 Unlike the two previous scrubs, this one has more of a gel base than a creamy one. Everything about this product will put a smile on your face: the color, light, foamy texture and the zesty grapefruit smell. It is very gentle yet fights blemishes. The tiny beads gently lift away dead skin and leave your face looking clean and fresh. Plus, the bright pink packaging makes it easy to find in the store!

Exfoliating your skin is the key to looking radiant despite the upcoming cold temperatures! However, I recommend exfoliating only two or three times a week; any more can be rough on your skin. Use a mild cleanser on the days you don’t exfoliate!

Have a fabulous day!
